Hardware Systems Specialist & Supply Chain Management

Are you a hardware enthusiast who knows exactly what happens inside a server chassis? Do you want to design the next generation of physical security appliances used by national defense and intelligence agencies?

Our client Arbit Cyber Defence Systems is expanding their physical footprint. We are now looking for an experienced Hardware Systems Specialist to own the lifecycle of their physical products – from designing new form factors (like ruggedized units or high-density rack mounts) to managing the supply chain that builds them.

The Role: Architecting the “Box”
While Arbit’s  software team builds the logic, you will build the vessel. You will be the internal expert on computer architecture, thermal management, and hardware component selection.

Arbit Cyber Defence Systems specializes in cybersecurity with focus on network protection. They develop and produce a range of certified and accredited Cross Domain Solutions for high security networks. Their Data Diode and the Arbit TRUST Gateway solve the challenges of running high security networks (disconnected/air gapped/galvanic) as they ensure seamless transfer of data including integration with Multi Engine Virus scanning and Data Sanitization. Customers primarily are in Intelligence, Armed Forces, National Government, Police and Defence Industry across Europe, North Africa, and Asia.
The company is based in Hvidovre close to Copenhagen.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Hardware Design & Form: Lead the design of new physical enclosures and hardware configurations for our Arbit Data Diode and Arbit TRUST Gateway solutions.
  • Component Strategy: Select and validate motherboards, CPUs, NICs (Network Interface Cards), and specialized galvanic isolation hardware to ensure they meet strict security and performance standards.
  • Technical Supply Chain Management: Manage relationships with hardware vendors and manufacturers. You will be responsible for sourcing high-quality components and ensuring a stable supply chain.
  • Prototype to Production: Arbit develops and manufactures SFPs in collaboration with external partners. You will work with external designers and manufacturers to take a hardware concept from product idea to a certified, finished product.
  • Lifecycle Management: Ensure our hardware stays ahead of the curve (e.g., transitioning to new PCIe standards or improving thermal efficiency in small-form-factor builds).

Your Background and Skills

You don’t need to be a software development expert, but you must be able to “talk shop” with Arbit’s software engineers and translate their performance needs into hardware specifications.

Core Qualifications:

  • Hardware Expert: Deep knowledge of computer architecture, server-grade components, and high-speed networking hardware.
  • System Integration: Experience in building, testing, and troubleshooting complex computer systems (Workstations, Servers, or Embedded systems).
  • Strategic Procurement: Experience in sourcing technical components and managing vendor relations/negotiations.
  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to balance technical performance requirements with cost-efficiency and physical constraints (space, heat, power).
  • Education: A background in Electronic Engineering, IT Technology, Supply Chain Management (with a technical focus), or equivalent “hands-on” experience.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with ruggedized hardware or MIL-SPEC standards.
  • Understanding of Mechanical Design or CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) to communicate with manufacturers.
  • Knowledge of Compliance & Certification (CE, FCC, or security-specific hardware certifications).

Security Requirement: As with all Arbit positions, you must be able to maintain a security clearance of level SECRET (HEMMELIGT).

Why Join the Arbit Hardware Team?

  • Tangible Impact: See your designs move from the drawing board to the server rooms of global defense organizations.
  • Strategic Autonomy: You will be the “go-to” person for all things physical, with significant influence over our hardware roadmap.
  • Mission-Critical Work: Join a company where “hardware-level security” isn’t just a buzzword – it’s the core of Arbits technology
  • Flexibility & Fun: An informal environment where they balance hard work with a great team spirit
  • Location and benefits: Arbit is located in Hvidovre (near the station/highway) where you will find their highly dedicated employees, more than 25 today. They offer great benefits, such as flexible working hours with work from home options, a pension scheme, health care program, fitness facilities, Arbit-days with teambuilding etc.
