Our client, Arbit Cyber Defence Systems, is scaling rapidly. We are looking for a Software Engineer with a passion for System-Level Design to join their R&D team in Hvidovre, close to Copenhagen. Arbit specializes in high-end network protection, developing certified Cross Domain Solutions for intelligence agencies, armed forces, and national governments. Their Data Diodes and TRUST Gateways enable seamless data transfer between networks with different confidentiality levels.
As the company grows, they need a developer who looks beyond the code to the entire system lifecycle – from hardware interfacing to high-level security protocols.
Key Responsibilities: From Code to Architecture
In this role, you will bridge the gap between low-level implementation and high-level system strategy. You will report directly to the CTO and work alongside a team of eight highly skilled developers.
- System Architecture & Design: Lead the architectural evolution of our most innovative product, the Arbit TRUST Gateway, ensuring the system is modular, secure, and future-proof.
- Low-Level Development: Design and implement high-performance C/C++ components for unidirectional data transfer.
- End-to-End System Integrity: Take ownership of how various components (Multi-Engine Scanning, and Galvanic isolation) interact within the system.
- Technical Leadership: Act as a subject matter expert within the R&D team, guiding decisions on computer architecture and Linux system integration.
- Collaborative Innovation: Collaborate actively with Arbits highly skilled teams in Software Development, Quality Assurance, and Service Delivery.
Your background
We are looking for a “System Thinker” – someone who understands how a single line of code impacts the security and performance of the entire hardware/software stack.
Core Qualifications:
- Experience: Professional experience in C and/or C++ programming.
- Systems Mindset: Strong understanding of Computer Science principles and low-level computer architecture (CPU, memory management, I/O).
- Linux Mastery: Experience with Linux at a system-administration or kernel level.
- Networking: Deep understanding of network security concepts and network protocols including UDP.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field.
The “Extra Mile” (Nice-to-have):
- Experience with Containerization (Docker) and Java.
- Knowledge of interfacing with Smart Cards.
- Fluency in English is required; the ability to understand or speak Danish is a significant plus.
Note: Due to the nature of our clients, you must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance of level SECRET (HEMMELIGT).
